For too long, differently-abled people have been confined to the shadows and excluded from our community's mainstream. Big Magic Studios programs allow our friends with different abilities to express themselves through art and give them a chance to exhibit and sell their work just like any other artist.

LEADERSHIP

Erin Shriver founded Shriver Education for the Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports Big Magic Studios. She heads up the Board of Directors and serves together with all of the Shriver Education for the Arts employees, supporters and volunteers to promote a more unified and compassionate world.

Erin is the lead instructor and program coordinator at Big Magic Studios. She thrives on “being in the thick of it,” and Shriver Education for the Arts with its Big Magic Studios is a perfect way for her to be "hands on" and help make a dent in the alarming 80% unemployment rate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

OUR MISSION

Big Magic Studios provides differently-abled artists the opportunity to practice and demonstrate their skills through art classes and proper art exhibitions. In addition, their finished original work is offered for sale and is also digitized and prepared by Erin Shriver to be licensed by companies for use on products.

Our artists form meaningful friendships with their peers; improve their public speaking, develop self-advocacy and communication skills; and feel valued and included by society. We celebrate and honor their special abilities.

Big Magic Studios artists have special abilities
but want to be treated just like everyone else.

Inclusion and Opportunity

For too long, differently-abled individuals have been kept in the shadows. Big Magic Studios is about inclusion, acceptance and opportunity for all. Visit some amazing artists at our studio, feel the joy as they express themselves through art, and please consider helping change the life of another by donating to our supporting nonprofit, Shriver Education for the Arts.

Dignity and Jobs

80% of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are unemployed. Big Magic Studios supports our efforts to help provide our artists with a source of income through original art sales, product sales, and art licensing opportunities. This program also helps our artists form meaningful friendships with their peers; improve their public speaking, develop self-advocacy and communication skills; and feel valued and included by society. We celebrate and honor their special abilities!
